Year 1 Bubble Closure

Tuesday January 12th 2021

Dear Parents,

Today, I was contacted by a member of staff from the Year 1 bubble who informed me that their Covid-19 test taken yesterday (11.01.21) had been confirmed as positive. The member of staff was last in school on Friday, January 8th. The member of staff is self-isolating for a period of 10 days.

Following my communication with the DfE, all staff and pupils from the Year 1 bubble who have been at school since Thursday 7th January, will need to self-isolate for a period of 10 days. The Year 1 bubble will re-open on Monday January 18th. All other members of the household do NOT need to self-isolate.

A reminder that if you or your child develops one or more of covid-19 symptoms, then contact the school and also book a test. This can be done by booking online through the NHS testing and tracing website   or ordered by telephone via NHS 119 for those without access to the internet. If you are unable to book a local slot, then you can email making clear the test is for a child attending a Devon School and you will be supported to access local testing.

A reminder that the main symptoms of coronavirus are:

1 .A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

2. A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

3. A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If you are concerned about your child’s health, then contact your GP surgery.

Should you have any queries then please contact the school office.

Kind regards,

Mr. Jim Williams

(Executive Headteacher)
