January 2021 Lockdown

Tuesday 5th January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your support and understanding over the past 24 hours. See the below updates for additional information relating to our provision for the coming days and weeks:

Information relating to ‘In-School’ provision

  1.     As previously mentioned, both schools will be open to support children of keyworkers who have no other option for childcare. If you need this from of provision then please email either admin@st-margarets-junior.devon.sch.uk  or admin@st-georges-infants.devon.sch.uk with the name of your child, their class and your key worker role (if applicable).
  2.     The school day will run from 08:45 – 15:20 for all pupils.
  3.     We have made contact with the families of other children (e.g. children with an EHCP) who can attend the school setting.
  4.      If you are a parent of a child described within section 1 or 2 above and require a place at the breakfast club then please can you contact either of the school offices via email or phone call (see contact details on this headed paper). This provision will be available as from Wednesday January 6th 7:45am.
  5.     Our ‘out of school hours’ provider, CAN Play will continue to provide care for children of key workers after school.  Visit  https://www.canplay.org for contact details.

Information relating to ‘Home Learning’ provision

  1.              We hope that your child has managed to log on to Google classroom (Years 3-6), Purple Mash (Years 1 & 2) or Evidence Me (Reception).  If you have had any difficulties with this then please contact the school office for assistance. Tasks will be set for completion from tomorrow (Wednesday).
  2.              A pack for every child, which contains an exercise book as well as other stationery equipment, will be available for collection from outside of both main school office entrances tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. For some families who have requested paper- copies of learning, due to being unable to access the online learning, then your child’s pack is also ready for collection and will be outside the front of school.
  3.              Please collect your child’s pack from the front of the school between 9:30am and 2:00 pm.
  4.              The children have worked hard to develop the presentation and writing stamina since returning to school, and it is vital we maintain this over the coming weeks.  Therefore your teacher will ask children to complete some learning tasks within their exercise books (Years 1-6)
  5.              All children will be asked to bring their exercise book into school when we reopen. Children who are working a combination of in school and home learning, will be asked to bring their exercise book to and from school.

Kind regards,

Jim Williams (Executive Headteacher)
