Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesdays. Children should come to school in their PE kit on these days.

We work closely as a unit and children spend time in both the Starfish and Seahorse classrooms as well as our Year 1 outdoor area.

Here is some of the amazing writing the children did just before half term. We came up with our own version of 'The tiger who came to tea'. There were some amazing ideas from the children.

Welcome back!
We hope you enjoyed a sunny half term break. We are looking forward to what will be the final term in Year One this year. Time flies!

This half term our final topic for this year will be... 'The world as a global village' we will be thinking about our environment and the impact we have on our surroundings and the world around us. We will be thinking about how we can make positive changes to our environment and what we can do to make a change for the good.

We will continue to update this page with important dates and important information for the term ahead. The Summer term gets very busy! We will soon be organising transition and preparing the children for their move up to Year 2.

Websites to support home learning

www.phonicsplay.com - this is a useful site for games and ideas to support reading and phonic knowledge.

Each child has their own user name and log in for Purple Mash. If it is necessary for a child to isolate work will be set via this website but it is also useful to support learning in general. Please contact us if you need help with log in details.

Weekly reading star challenge!

We are encouraging children to read at home as much as possible. Even just 5 minutes a day will make a difference. This term we will check the children's reading diaries every Friday, those children who have read 3 or more times in a week at home will move their reading star up the planets. When they reach the sun they will get a prize for all their reading completed at home!
